In a horrific incident in Bhuj college that sparked controversy after 68 college girls were harassed and tortured by the administration and Principal. Now, another controversy has created a stir on the same case after Swami Krushnaswarup Dasji of Swaminarayan Bhuj Mandir made a contentious remark.

According to the reports of Ahmedabad Mirror, Swami Krushnaswarup Dasji said that “if a menstruating woman cooks food for her husband then her next avatar will be a “kutri (bitch)”.

He also added that if a husband eats food made by a woman during her periods then he will be reborn as ‘ox’.

"As per rules mentioned in the ‘Shashtras’ if a woman prepares a food she will turn into a dog," Swami told.

The spiritual leader also told that “Now that I have said this, everyone will feel that I am strict. And they {women} will cry that we will turn into dogs. So, yes, you will have to {become dogs}.”

His thoughts on menstruating women expose his misogynistic mindset of the sect and its followers.

The video of the swami also went viral on social media which has drawn flak.

According to the reports of Ahmedabad Mirror, industrialist Jadavji Gorasiya, who is also the trustee of Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Bhuj said, “I will not comment on the matter.” Devprakash Swami, the kothari swami of the temple, also said, “I do not want to talk about it.”

His statement has come to light amid outrage spilled over 60 girl students of a college in Bhuj, where 68 girls were forced to remove their undergarments by the Principal and other faculty, to prove whether they weren’t on period.

The Principal of the college Rita Raninga, hostel rector Ramilaben and peon Naina were suspended.
