The Army patrol at Siachen glacier in Ladakh region of Jammu and Kashmir was hit by an avalanche on 25 March.
Two soldiers were swept away by the avalanche. While one soldier has been rescued, efforts are on to locate the other one.
The Hindu quoted Colonel SD Goswami, spokesperson of the Army's Udhampur-headquartered Northern Command as saying: "Two soldiers were swept away by the avalanche. One soldier has been rescued from the avalanche so far. His condition is serious and being treated. Efforts are on to locate the missing soldier."
