Assembly Election Results 2018: Semi-final battle between PM Modi and Rahul Gandhi begins in Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and MP

The semi-final battle has begun as the counting started at 8:00 am today in all the five states- Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Rajasthan and Mizoram. However, the results will decide the fortune of the parties that who will form the government in these states.

Out of the five, the biggest war between the Bhartiya Janata Party and Congress is in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh.

In Madhya Pradesh, BJP is ruling for the last 15 years and the same in Chhattisgarh also. While in Rajasthan, both BJP and Congress have formed their government in alternative terms.

Today results in these three states will also have a great impact on the upcoming 2019 Lok Sabha Elections.

However, exit polls have been forecasted in these states earlier. As in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, BJP and Congress are giving the tough competition while in Rajasthan, the results predicted that BJP will rule out from the state and majority is in the hands of Congress.

In these three states, a total of 520 assembly seats went for polls. However, the tight security arrangements have been made for the counting, especially in Chhattisgarh, where at least 12 seats are in Naxal-affected areas.

From Rajasthan, the candidates for Chief Minister position contested from BJP and Congress are Vasundhara Raje and Ashok Gehlot, Sachin Pilot.

From Madhya Pradesh, candidates are Shivraj Singh Chouhan (BJP), Kamal Nath (Congress) and Jyotiraditya Madhavrao Scindia (Congress)

While from Chhattisgarh, Raman Singh (BJP) and Ajit Jogi (Congress).
