The chief minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal, who often make headlines due to the wrong reasons, had once again created a buzz on the internet by saying that almost 90 % of IAS officers do not work that's why development is "stuck up at the Secretariat."

On 16 October, Kejriwal said that Indian Administrative Service officers in Delhi does not do their work adding that he would regularise all the contractual workers if the capital will have full statehood.

Arvind Kejriwal was speaking at the function that was organised to felicitate pensioners of the power department. The chief minister was referring to his proposal about regularising all the contractual workers in Delhi.

"90% of them (IAS officers) do not work and hold up the files, When I proposed regularisation of contractual employees, all the officers opposed me. They said if regularised they won't work. I said, if this is the logic then all the IAS officers should be ad-hoc because they do not work," the chief minister said.

Kejriwal further said that he got to know that the officers were causing trouble to the pensioners.
"I have asked the labour department to sent the draft notification for LG's approval. If he obstructs it, they (contractual employees) will give him a befitting reply (khaat khadi kar denge)," Kejriwal quipped.
