Kashmir: Two major attacks within 24 hours; assistant sub-inspector killed in Anantnag

Two policemen including an officer were killed in a terrorist attack in Anantnag town of South Kashmir on 3 June. This is the second major attack on security forces in the last 24 hours in the area. The cops were fired at when they were deployed at Anantnag bus stand, NDTV reported.

Two personnel along with an assistant sub-inspector were killed in the attack on 4 June. The cops have been identified as assistant sub-inspector Bashir Ahmad and constable Reyaz Ahmad.

Both terrorists fled the spot after the attack. A massive manhunt has been launched to find the terrorists.

On Friday, three BSF personnel were killed and seven others were injured when terrorists attacked their convoy at Bijbehara.

According to a report in NDTV, the attacks are likely to affect the polls which will commence on 22 June as separatist groups have also called for a boycott of the polls. Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti will be contesting from Anantnag.
