All six terrorists holed up in the Pathankot Air Force base have been killed by security forces, as per latest reports. However, the combing operations to sanitise the area is still on. Reportedly, the entire building where the terrorists were holed up has been brought down.
The fifth terrorist was gunned down earlier. The entire operation took around 60 hours to complete and seven Jawans sacrificed their lives while fighting the militants, allegedly associated with Pakistan-based outlawed Jaish-e-Mohammad.
The JeM militants had entered the Air Force base on 2 January and opened fire. This was the fifth terror attack in Pathankot in the last few months.
The last rites of martyred jawans Lt Col Niranjan Kumar and Corporal Gursewak Singh were performed in their respective native places today.
