Air India flights affected after server shutdown across world; passengers stranded

Air India’s flights across the world, including India, have been affected since early Saturday morning after the problem occurred in airline’s main server. According to ANI reports, Air India flights are affected as airline's SITA server is down all over India & overseas since 3:30 am.

“SITA server is down. Due to which flight operation is affected. Our technical teams are on work and soon system may be recovered. Inconvenience is deeply regretted,” Air India spokesperson said.


Several passengers took Twitter to complained about the delayed flights and shared pictures and videos of crowded airports in Mumbai and Delhi.

"At least 2,000 people in Mumbai airport waiting because of the SITA software shutdown all over India," wrote Gayathri Raguramm, a Twitter user said sharing a video.

"It is a technical glitch which will be restored soon," Air India chairman Ashwani Lohani told NDTV.
