Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa-led All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) MPs on 4 October marched towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi's office in Delhi, reportedly to protest the central government's opposition to setting up of Cauvery management board.
They have also asked the Centre to withdraw application in Supreme Court seeking modification of order on constituting Cauvery Water Management Board.
"Today we handed over the memorandum to PM Modi. Cauvery management board will be constituted quickly," AIADMK MP, M. Thambidurai told ANI.
This comes a day after the Central government sought modification of the Supreme Court order directing the Centre to intervene, and set up the Cauvery Water Management Board.

The Centre seeks modification of the order citing that it was not within the Supreme Court's jurisdiction to direct the Centre to constitute the Cauvery Management Board (CMB), as it would amount to encroachment into legislative powers.
On 30 October, however, the Centre - represented by Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi - had agreed to abide by the court's direction to form the Management Board by 4 October, and submit a report on the same by 6 October.
Coming down heavily on the BJP and Congress over the Cauvery water dispute, the AIADMK said both political parties want to be in power and that's why they are playing games over the matter.
"Every time in Karnataka they will have all-party meeting assembly they say this - we can't give order to Tamil Nadu. We want it for drinking purpose. It's a recorded answer. This is the same word coming from the Congress as well as from the BJP," AIADMK leader CR Saraswathi told the news agency.
"The government is not taking the word of the Supreme Court. If the Supreme Court gives a judgment, they have to oblige. We agree that drinking purpose is also important, same time irrigation is also important," she added.
Addtionally, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) also slammed the BJP and accused the government of playing politics over the Cauvery water issue.

Meanwhile, Karnataka Assembly in its special session passed a resolution yesterday that the government would release the Cauvery water for the state's farmers.
However, the resolution didn't mention the recent Supreme Court orders, which directed the Karnataka government to release 6,000 cusecs of water to Tamil Nadu till 6 October.
