AIADMK cadres stage demonstration against Sasikala's appointment as party chief

A small group of AIADMK cadres and supporters of former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa's niece, Deepa Jayakumar, staged a black flag protest here against appointment of V K Sasikala as party General Secretary on Saturday.
The protesters alleged that Sasikala was chosen to the top post against the party's rules and regulations.
No arrests were made, police said.
Sasikala formally assumed charge as the AIADMK general secretary today.
