Agra: 13-year-old girl gangraped in Itmad-ud-daula. Police warn of increasing sexual attacks on minors

An FIR has been lodged against four men for allegedly kidnapping and gangraping a 13-year-old orphan girl in Agra's Itmad-ud-daula area on the night of 11 August.

The girl was allegedly kidnapped by four men who dragged her into an abandoned house and gangraped her, the Times of India reported.

The victim told the daily that she was rescued by a neighbour a few hours after the incident.

An FIR was lodged on 12 August. "An FIR has been lodged against four men on the written complaint filed by the minor. A team has been formed to arrest the accused," circle officer (CO) B S Tyagi told the daily.

The Times of India reported that at least 26 cases of sexual abuse and assault on minors have been reported in the Agra area this year.

On 5 August, a minor girl was allegedly raped by her 50-year-old neighbour in Nunhai area of Itmad-ud-daula.
