3 years ago I began this long, slow journey and now I realize that there really isn’t any end to it. Each day I move in a direction based on my choices. Each month is a new milestone. Each year I seem to have changed so completely I think I can’t change any more and yet I do.💕💕 At this point, I truly realize that we are limitless. At any moment we can make a decision to change. No matter how difficult or challenging life is, we must remain steadfast in our aim and keep inching forward. When I got started I never imagined I’d be where I am today. I just wanted to get my health back and get off my medication. Each door we step through leads to another door and then another. I hope you all keep choosing to grow! To learn to love yourself, take the best care of yourself, and dare to dream and love with your whole heart again.🙏🙏 . Pink outfit by @womensbest . . #transformation #hope #justdoit.

Romanian Deadlifts! 😅😅 I do these to help strengthen my backside and really tone up my muscles. These are very hard, no doubt about it, and they aren’t easy to do right so I do recommend working with a professional. 🙏 I know I am very lucky to have a daughter and a son-in-law who are at the top of their fields. Every time I come down to Tulum to their gym I learn something new. 👵🏼 Here are my tips for mastering this exercise: 1) think of really tightening up your back and squeeze the back of your armpits, just like you are trying to stop someone from tickling you ☺️ 2) get a nice, tight tummy and fill it up with air before you begin. I hold my breath as I lift the weight and only take a quick sip when I’m at the top 3)keep that bar on your legs! @jeanjacquesbarrett and @yourhealthyhedonista are really strict on that. If the bar starts leaving my legs, I can start to feel it in my back. 😬 4) really keep the back from rounding. I am thinking of keeping a “proud chest”. I have a naturally rounded back from old age but I’m hoping that with this exercise and others I can prevent it from getting worse. My own mother had a real “dowagers” back so I guess it’s partly hereditary. I’m no expert. Like you guys I’m trying to keep learning and to keep getting better. I work with people who really know what they are doing and I trust them to have my health as a top priority. I recommend that you also work with professionals. I know it is so hard to find reliable help theses days but word of mouth is a wonderful thing. If you want to tag someone who you feel would be a good coach or trainer for people, please do so and list the area they work in and the gym they work at. A little community effort can go a long way. 💕💕 . My favorite @womensbest pink seamless outfit Knee sleeves are by @sbdapparel . #girlswholift #girlswhopowerlift #bodybuilding #fitover70

Well, here it is folks! 😅 This is a video of a typical upper body training for me these days. . Now, I want to underline that it has taken me a good two years to get to a place where I can do these exercises properly. When I started out I did very simple things like machine shoulder presses and machine chest presses. Basically I did a lot of machine work. Once the weight came off and I learned how to move better, I was able to advance my exercises and use barbells and dumbbells. 💪Now there isn’t too much that I wouldn’t try to do! 😀😀 I hope this inspires you to train with focus in the gym, and to really dig deep and start believing in yourself again. Of course it’s not easy to go to the gym and really get to work but the rewards are endless. Just give yourself time to get strong and really reward yourself for a job well done. Go get yourself a cute gym outfit right from the beginning. Don’t wait to be “perfect”. You’re already perfect if you’re doing the work and learning to love yourself. When you get to be my age, you young ones will realize just how perfect you always were. 👵🏼👵🏼👵🏼 . If you want to see the whole workout, you can see it on my YouTube , and I’ll put the link in my bio 🔝🔝 Let me know if you see my blooper. 🤣🤣 . Outfit is the pink seamless activewear by @womensbest . My tips to help you get started: 1. Really take stock of the things you want to change . Be clear in your mind what habits you want to change. Write those things down. Make a clear list! 2. Write out another list of the new habits you want to master to create a new you. Be clear. Be simple. Changing your life isn’t as complicated as we make it out to be. To make big changes we need to create new daily habits. That’s it. End of story. Focus on the habits. 🥰🥰 3. Get a nutrition plan and an exercise plan that you can follow for the long term. Be careful of fad diets that eliminate major food groups. You want this to be sustainable. Anyone can lose 10 lbs for a couple of months. You will want to be one of the few that transform for the long haul. That’s where the real benefits start racking up! 🔝🔝 4. Have an attitude of gratitude for the small successes. The more you can focus on what you’re doing right, the more confident and energized you’ll be to keep on going. You can’t beat yourself over the finish line folks. You’ve got to learn to truly love yourself unconditionally and keep on encouraging ourselves to grow in the right direction. ❤️ . Happy Friday! Sounds out, I got my guns out! Here is my everyday stretch that I do and it’s called The World’s Greatest Stretch. (Outfit is by @womensbest ) 🌸🌸 I do one set on each side and it takes me about a minute per side. I started doing this stretch when I had lost the first 30 lbs and my vertigo was in check. 💕💕 Now that I’ve been practicing for a couple of years I can really see the change in my agility. It just goes to show you, all you need to do is keep chipping away at the block and “miracles” will occur. When you see my videos now, always remember that I started from a very challenging place: overweight, old, and exhausted. I never thought much about the end result. I honestly think that might have overwhelmed me. Instead I just kept my head down and focused on the task at hand. In this case I started out with simple stretches like the calf wall stretch and the simple runners stretch. As the weight came off and I could move a little better, my coach @yourhealthyhedonista graduated me to this stretch (which was still very very awkward and difficult when I started out). So please if you are in a bad state right now, don’t get overwhelmed by how far you have to go. Rest assured that with daily effort and consistency it will all come together for you. Get to work on focusing on the small, daily improvements that are the essential early steps on this long journey. Enjoy each step of the way. 🙏 Keys to this stretch: 1) keep a tight core and even breathing 2) keep your feet in alignment and move slowly really allowing yourself to get balanced 3) take the stretch to where it is uncomfortable but not painful. That may mean many things to different people but I always aim to push myself myself just a little bit further each day, as long as my breath and awareness are calm 💕💕 . According to the New York Post, MacDonald attributes her metamorphoses to lifting weights, eating a balanced diet and consuming supplements such as amino acids and protein shakes.

Kudos to Joan!
