WWE superstar and Devil's Favourite Demon Kane also known as Jacobs has won the mayoral seat of Knox County, Tennessee, US.

He was an American professional wrestler signed to WWE on the Raw brand. He started his wrestling career in 1992. He was called the mentally disturbed, pyromaniacal younger half-brother of The Undertaker.

On Tuesday night Kane appears to win the primary election for Knox County mayor.

Although Kane's campaign manager proclaimed his victory, the official results will be declared next Thursday. This landmark victory has more than five times as many Republicans voting than Democrats in Knox County.

Last year Kane announced his intentions to run for this office when he was still making appearances for WWE.

Jacob alias Kane ran against Knox county commissioners Brad Anders and Bob Thomas. Kane had 14,633 votes while Anders has 14,616 and Thomas had 11,296.

Kane received a lot of support from WWE Superstars, his brother The Undertaker and WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair.
