Teacher tries to groom 13-year-old girl online; know what happens next
In a shocking case, a teacher at a prestigious school in Australia’s Sydney has alleged sent lewd images to someone he thought was a 13-year-old girl.
According to news.com.au, the man has been charged with online grooming offences.
The man has been identified as a 39-year-old teacher at Trinity Grammar School. Reportedly, he used to send sexually explicit images to a 13-year-old girl online.
There is a twist in crime:
The teacher who she thought is a teenage girl, actually, he was an undercover police officer.
According to detectives, they started talking to the man, from Sydney’s southwest, under the guise of the teenage girl earlier this month.
Police also alleged that the man was engaged in these conversations on his mobile phone during his work hours also.
The accused teacher has been arrested at Summer Hill around 3 pm on Thursday. His clothing and electronic devices have been seized by police officers from his home at Padstow Heights, which will undergo further examination.
The 39-year-old man was taken to Burwood police station. He has been charged with using a carriage service to send indecent material to a person under 16 and also using a carriage service to solicit child abuse material.
He will appear before Burwood Local Court on Friday.
