UP man tries to smuggle liquor in milk containers; here’s what Delhi Police do

Due to coronavirus lockdown in the country, several shops have been closed, including liquor shops. Alcohol addicted people are facing difficulties to survive without alcohol as several cases have come to light where people are ready to become violators of lockdown, even some people have committed suicide to drink alcohol.

Now, the latest case added to the list is the smuggling of alcohol by a UP man. According to the reports in India Today, the man tried to smuggle liquor under the garb of milk bottles.


The man has been identified as Boby Chaudhary, who is a resident of Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr.

Know what Delhi Police did:

When Boby tried to smuggle the liquor, Delhi Police nabbed him near Rashtrapati Bhavan with four cans of milk. Instead of milk, Delhi Police recovered seven bottles of Royal Green Classic Blended 750 ml each (including one broken bottle).

Delhi Police has booked the accused Boby under various sections of the Epidemic Act, Delhi Excise Act, and Epidemic Act.

Due to alcohol, in Tamil Nadu, three men died after they consumed paint and varnish after they were unable to get liquor due to lockdown in the state.

Since Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a 21-day nationwide lockdown in the country from March 25 to April 14, all liquor shops have been closed. However, only essential services are working which includes milk shops, medical services.
