Teen girl allegedly kidnapped, gangraped by four men; victim rescued from Gujarat

In a horrifying incident of crime against women, the Madhya Pradesh Police have taken four people into their custody from Gujarat’s Rajkot for allegedly Kidnapping and gangraping an 18-year-old girl who went missing from her home in the Rampur police station area.

The 18-year-old victim was reported missing by her family on 28th September. She was rescued from Rajkot on 15th October. The accused, who had managed to run away from police were nabbed on 20th October from Rajkot, police said.


The four accused have been identified as Bhura Jatav, Lakhpati Jatav, Vinod Kushvah and Samir Kushwah. All are natives of Madhya Pradesh’s Morena.

As maintained by the Rampur police station SHO, S Niranjan, the missing complaint was registered on September 28. In the time of the investigation, it was discovered that the mobile tower location of the phone that had last contacted her had changed from Shivpuri in Madhya Pradesh to Rajkot in Gujarat in 48 hours, police said.

Police said, the teen victim, after being kidnapped, was taken to Shivpuri where two individuals took turns to rape her. The victim was later taken to Rajkot by the four accused.

Following the complaint, police lodged a case of gangrape and kidnapping against all four accused.

According to cops, one of the accused was identified as victim lover. He had approached the victim on many occasions in the past. However, the victim had shunned his moves.

On 28th September, the accused coaxed the teenager to meet him outside her house from where she was allegedly kidnapped with the help of other person and taken to Shivpuri, police said.

The two accused took turns to rape the victim before taking her to Rajkot with the help of two others, police said.

Police said the teen victim was horror struck after she was rescued from Gujarat and could recognize only two of the four accused. The other two accused were identified on the basis of a statements given by the first two accused, police said.
