Swiggy delivery boy shoots restaurant owner to death after fight over order delay

In a shocking incident of crime reported from Greater Noida, a food delivery boy, working for Swiggy allegedly shot dead a restaurant owner on Wednesday.

According to reports, the delivery boy fired shot at the restaurant owner after a fight over a delay in the order that he was supposed to pick up.


The police have initiated a search operation to trace and arrest the accused delivery boy.

According to the police, the deceased, identified as Sunil owned a online food delivery outlet at a housing society in UP’s Greater Noida. At around 12:15 am on Wednesday, a Swiggy delivery boy reached the outlet to pick up the order. He was told that the food items ordered are being prepared and it will take some time.

After waiting for a while, the delivery boy got infuriated following which there was a fierce altercation between the delivery boy and workers of the outlet. When Sunil tried to step in, the Swiggy delivery boy suddenly pulled out a gun and fired at the owner and ran away from the crime spot.

The owner of the food outlet (Sunil) was immediately rushed to Yatharth Hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival, reports said.

The police have registered a case and are looking into CCTV footages from nearby areas in order to arrest the accused.
