Pune Horror: Minor girl kidnapped, gang-raped for two days

In a horrifying incident of crime against women reported from Maharashtra’s Pune district, a teen girl, aged 13, was kidnapped and gang-raped for two stright days at several locations.

The victim was abducted on 31st August by an autorickshaw driver and and was allegedly gang raped by a group of people. Until now, seven people have been taken into police custody and the search operation for others is underway.


According to the girl, she was waiting for her friend late at night at Pune railway station and she was offered a ride back home after her friend didn’t show up.

The victim girl was later abducted and raped for two days stright. The arrest of seven accused was done on the basis of information given by the girl. The apprehended individuals include two employees of Railways and five autorickshaw drivers.

The 13-year-old girl has suffered serious mental trauma and has been under observation at a hospital. The horrific incident surfaced after the girl went missing and her parents began looking for her.

The victim's family approached police on 1st September and registered a missing report.

"The accused took the girl to an lsolated location. The girl was also raped in the autorickshaw and even on the premises of the Railways office. The suspects threatened to harm her and her family members as they continued to subject her to sexual abuse," a report in Indian Express quoted a police officer as saying.

Following, the alleged incrimination of two railway employees in the crime, the railway administration has suspended the two staff. Divisional Railway Manager of Pune, Renu Sharma said the administration is acting jointly with police in the matter.
