Man kills wife after he takes her out to lunch on Valentine’s Day
In a shocking incident, a man allegedly killed his wife on Valentine’s Day. The incident took place in Sector 5 of Ghaziabad’s Vaishali.
The man also wrote a suicide note. The woman was found dead at her residence.
According to timesnownews.com reports, the man allegedly slit his wrist and murdered his wife soon after he took her out on Valentine’s Day lunch.
The incident came to notice at around 9:15 am when the couple’s neighbours saw the man lying in an empty plot next to his house. The police were informed about the incident. The man was rushed to a nearby hospital.
The police came to know about the woman’s murder after they went to the man’s house to inform his wife about the incident.
The man was identified as Devjeet Dutt, who married Puja. The couple had been living in the area for the last 5 years.
During the investigation, police found that woman was strangled to death in her sleep. Her body has been sent for a post-mortem.
According to the circle officer of Indirapuram, Anshu Jain said that the family went to lunch on Valentine’s Day, and following that Devjeet went to his in-law’s residence in Karol Bagh, The Times of India reported.
After having a lunch date, the couple came back home at around 11 pm after they had dinner and left their son at his grandparent’s house.
Suicide note reveals reason behind the murder:
On returning home, Devjeet allegedly murdered his wife and then slit his own wrist. He also penned down a suicide note. The man wrote that he was killing his wife for personal reasons and also wanted to end his life.
Reportedly, a few years ago, Devjeet failed to pay the EMI of his Vaishali house
and the bank had confiscated the property.
Police said that Devjeet was the president of the parents’ association of a private school while his wife Puja used to take tuition classes.
After the incident, Puja’s family filed a complaint against Devjeet.
