Maharashtra shocker: Woman raped inside moving bus
In a heinous crime, a woman in Pune was allegedly raped twice inside a moving private luxury bus, police said.
The victim woman alleged that she was raped when the bus was on its way to the city from Nagpur.
According to the victim's complaint, the bus cleaner raped her in the moving bus by threatening her, Assistant Police Inspector (API) of Washim said.
However, the woman reported the incident to Pune's Ranjangaon Police, but the incident took place in the Washim district. Due to this reason, the Pune Police has transferred the complaint to the Malegaon Police of Washim, news agency, ANI reported.
A zero FIR has been registered based on the statement of the victim, a senior police officer of Ranjangaon Police Station said yesterday.
Meanwhile, the police have filed a case against the bus cleaner.
Damini Rape Case:
The incident reminds the 2012 Delhi gang-rape case, the Damini case of Delhi. The woman was brutally gang-raped while her friend was assaulted by the assailants inside the moving bus in the national capital.
In their brutal act, the convicts damaged her internal organs using an iron rod. The assailants also robbed both the victims. After the horrifying incident, they left them on the National Highway 8 near Mahipalpur flyover.
Both of them were later spotted by the passersby who informed the police. However, the paramedical student died of her injuries on December 29, 2012, in a hospital in Singapore, where she was airlifted.
In the brutal act, six people, including a juvenile, were charged with the gang-rape, murder, and other crimes that night.
On March 20, 2020, four men were hanged for gang-raping and beating a 23-year-old woman along with her friend in a moving private bus on December 16, 2012.
