Karnataka man in cross faith relationship killed, body dumped in farm well

Karnataka police have found the dead body of a youth from a farm well in connection with a honour killing case and have started a man hunt for family members of the girl, who he was in love with, belonging to another religion.

Following the recovery of the corpse, family of the victim, identified as Ravi Nimabaragi, a native of Balaganura in Alamela taluq, Vijayapura district, registered a police complaint against the girl’s family members. Named Ismail Thambe, Ashwaq Thambe, Altaf Thambe, Ibrahim Thambe, Imam Saab Thambe, Bande Nawaz Gothe and Mehaboob Alaheri.


All the accused in the case have fled from their village along with the girl, the cops said on Monday, further adding that a special team has been formed to arrest them. The unfortunate incident became known on Saturday when the victim's parents filed a complaint about their son's disappearance since 21st October.

They suspected the role of the girl’s family. As stated by the police, the girl had informed the victim's parents about him being beaten-up by her family members and relatives.

The police at the start recovered the victim’s attires and shoe from a secluded location outside the village and found his dead body, with his legs and hands fastened, dumped in the farm well.

The victim was allegedly in love with the girl for four years. The couple carried on their love affair albeit the girl's family was against it.

Further investigation into the case is underway.
