An awful incident took place in Mumbai’s Dharavi where a 17-year-old boy was brutally murdered by friends on Wednesday.

The reason behind killing the boy was a video which his friends had recorded when the 17-year-old boy was wearing saree and dancing.

However, four suspects, including three minors, were apprehended by the Police on Thursday in connection with the murder case of the boy.

The deceased boy has been identified as Kaushik Sunil Narayan Kar, a resident of Subhash Nagar in Dharavi. The accused were also the residents of the same neighbourhood.

According to the police, the accused were friends of Kar and they shot a video of his wearing a saree and dancing. However, Kar requested them to delete the video. He also told them that he would approach the police or inform his uncle, who is associated with a political party.

As per the report in Hindustan Times, police inquiry revealed that the suspects didn’t delete the video of the minor boy.

After this, the now-deceased boy went to his uncle’s house, located around 500 metres away from his residence, to inform him that he was being harassed by his friends. Upon reaching his uncle’s house, the youth found that his uncle had gone to his home town.

When the boy was returning to his home, the four accused surrounded him and started arguing with him. One of the accused pulled out a knife and stabbed him twice.

The boy suffered from serious injuries in the shoulder and was rushed to Sion Hospital where he succumbed due to excessive bleeding.

However, Police nabbed all the four suspects on the basis of an eyewitness statement.

The three minors will be sent to Dongri remand home. The four accused have been booked for murder under the Indian Penal Code.
