After her bail plea was turned down by a local court, the 28-year-old actor has been sent to 14-days judicial custody, which means she will be behind bars till 22nd September.
In an application for Rhea’s custody, the NCB has claimed that actor was an "active member" of a drugs syndicate and procured contrabands for the late actor. "Rhea has been arrested under sections 27A, 21, 22, 29 and 28 of NDPS," said K P S Malhotra, Deputy Director of NCB.
Numerous prespective surrounding the death of Sushant are being looked into by three federal agencies, including the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
The actor has been accused of abetment to suicide in connection with Sushant's death which the CBI is investigating, and a related money laundering case is being probed by the ED.
