Delhi Metro services on Republic Day: Central Secretariat, Udyog Bhawan to remain closed till 12 noon

The DMRC services at several stations will be partially curtailed on Sunday 26th January on the eve of Republic Day. The entry and exit gate to Central Secretariat and Udyog Bhawan metro stations will remain shut till noon while Lok Kalyan Marg and Patel Chowk station will close from 8:45 am to noon.

As per officials, several lines including Line 2 from Samaypur Badli to HUDA City Center and Line 6 from Raja Nahar Singh to Kashmere Gate will start from 6 am instead of 8 am on Sunday. Also, services on Phase III corridors will begin 2 hours earlier than the normal schedule.


L-1 Dilshad Garden-Shaheed Sthal (New Bus Adda), L-2 Jahangirpuri-Samaypur Badli, L-3 and 4 Noida City Centre-Noida Electronic City, L-6 Badarpur border – Raja Nahar Singh, L-8 Janakpuri West – Botanical Garden and the L-7 Majlis Park – Shiv Vihar corridors will also begin two hours before the usual time on Sunday.

All parking lots will remain closed till 2 pm on 26th January as part of the security arrangements.

On the eve of Republic Day, Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro will attend the parade as the guest of honour. The president who arrived in India on Friday will be the third Brazilian president to attend the Republic Day.
