The incident occurred when a speeding gravel-laden tipper collided head on with the auto carrying 18 persons, said Tarun Joshi, Superintendent of Police, Adilabad District.

14 of the travellers died immediately on the spot while another died on way to a hospital, the police officer said, adding that three others who were injured in the incident were shifted to a local hospital.
