In a bid to hamper the construction work, a group of Maoists on 27 April, set ablaze two vehicles and construction equipment used for building a bridge between Maharashtra and Telangana in Adilabad district, said the police.

The incident happened in the wee hours of Wednesday when the rebels set on fire a tipper, a tractor as well as two construction machines belonging to a private company which had undertaken construction work on the Bejjur-Aheri bridge near Gudem village of Adilabad in Telangana.

"The tipper and tractor were partially burnt and the construction equipments were also partially damaged in the burning incident," reported PTI

"Maoists from Maharashtra are suspected to be behind the burning incident who fled after setting the vehicles on fire," said the police adding that they are in the process of registering a case. Further investigations are on.
