Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone's La La Land gets max nominations in the 2017 Golden Globes

News Agencies | Updated on: 10 February 2017, 1:38 IST

The recently announced nominations for the '74th Golden Globe Awards' is paving the biggest path to La La Land and Moonlight with almost the same number of nods.

The Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone-starrer musical romance was the major victor, netting seven nominations, followed closely by the coming-of-age drama Moonlight with six, reports The Telegraph.

British nominees totaled 17 across film and television, including Hugh Grant for Florence Foster Jenkins, Hugh Laurie and Tom Hiddleston for BBC's The Night Manager, Dev Patel for Lion, Andrew Garfield for Hacksaw Ridge and Riz Ahmed for the HBO mini-series The Night Of.

Game Of Thrones and Netflix's Stranger Things received nominations for Best Actress and Best Drama while notable snubs in the film category include Clint Eastwood's Sully and Martin Scorsese's religious epic Silence, both of which received nominations.

Meryl Streep had earlier been announced as this year's recipient of the Cecil B DeMille Lifetime Achievement Award.
