As Universal Pictures stated earlier, the studio "is currently in the process of seeking approval from the United States and Cuban governments to explore shooting a portion of the next instalment of the 'Fast & Furious' series in Cuba."

However, the majority of filming will take place in New York and Atlanta.

In Fast and Furious 8, Diesel will reprise his role as Dominic Toretto.

The street-racing movie will be released in North America on 14 April 2017.
