Captain America: Civil War had a fair opening weekend in India as the film raked in around Rs 27 crore at the Box Office.
After a good start of Rs 8.53 crore, the film failed to show any substantial growth on Saturday as it collected Rs 8.79 crore.
The collections jumped by 15 per cent on Sunday in comparison to Friday, but the film failed to breach past the Rs 10 crore mark.
While Captain America: Civil War did extraordinary business at Delhi and Mysore, the collections in Maharashtra took a hit because of the success of Sairat.
The film also faced stiff competition from Suriya's 24 down south, which restrained it to perform at its complete potential.
Day-wise Box Office collections:
- Friday (6 May): Rs 8.53 crore
- Saturday (7 May): Rs 8.79 crore
- Sunday (8 May): Rs 9.81 crore
- Total: Rs 27.13 crore
The film has recorded the fourth highest opening weekend collections of all time for a Hollywood film in India after Fast and Furious 7, The Jungle Book and Avengers: Age of Ultron.
The film's performance of Monday will give a clear picture about the lifetime collections of the film.
The film, which features Iron Man, Captain America, Spider Man and Ant Man among others, still stands a chance to breach the total collections of Age of Ultron (Rs 78 crore).
