Junior Hockey Asia Cup: India pump in 12 goals past Singapore

The Indian women's junior hockey team continued its spectacular form in the Junior Hockey Asia Cup in Changzhou, China, as it thumped Singapore by twelve goals to nil in its second game on Sunday, 6 September. The team had earlier beaten DPR Korea by a scoreline of 13-0, meaning India has now scored an incredible 25 goals in its two games in the tournament.

In the first half, Punam Barla, Anupa Barla, Preeti Dubey and Jaspreet Kaur scored for India, while Lily Chanu and Gurjit Kaur got on the scoresheet midway through the second half.

Lilima Minz made it 7-0 for India with a quarter of the match left to play, and after a couple of minutes on the clock, India scored three quickfire goals courtesy of Navneet Kaur, Preeti Dubey and Lily Chanu. In the dying minutes, Anupa Barla and Deep Grace Ekka scored a goal each to seal a 12-0 win in India's favour.
