
The Indian women's junior hockey suffered their first defeat at the Junior Hockey Asia Cup in Changzhou, China on Wednesday, 9 September, when the hosts upset them by a score of 4-2 in a Pool A match.
China played with aggressive intent throughout the match, with Bing-Feng Gu scoring two quick goals,while Qiu Guo and Chenyang Guo scored one goal each.
It was drag-flicker Jaspreet Kaur, who scored the first goal for India at 33rd minute through a penalty corner.
Defender Gurjit Kaur later converted a penalty corner into another goal for her side.
India had started their Asia Cup tournament in an imperious style as they claimed a 13-0 win over Korea and a 12-0 victory over Singapore.
The ongoing tournament is a qualification event for the FIH Junior World Cup 2016.
India will now lock horns with Malaysia on Thursday, 10 September.
