Paralympic association football has enjoyed growing popularity as a sport over the years throughout the world. The sport has two prominent formats, one for players with partial or complete visual impairment, and another for footballers with cerebral palsy.

In the former, the sport is played with five players in each team on small football fields, and makes for compelling viewing for lovers of fast-paced sports. In recent days, social media has been abuzz with a video of a goal from Cecifoot, the French name for the sport, where French defender Yvan Wouandji makes a stunning solo-run from his own half to score for his team.

The video is from April, earlier this year, and has been widely shared on micro-blogging sites in recent days.

The goalkeeper of the opposing team, who is the only one allowed to play without a blindfold, is himself left surprised by Wouandji's brilliant finishing, and can only watch on as the ball hits the back of the neck.
