It was around 10 pm on a late August evening, when a group of teenage footballers, playing in a public park in Malviya Nagar, heard someone scream from the area surrounding the park. The boys immediately rushed out to see a man running away after having just attacked a teary-eyed foreigner.

Without any second thoughts, the boys started running after the man. The chase took them to the nearby Apeejay School, where they found him hiding behind a car. The group of youngsters picked him up, and immediately rushed to the nearest police station with the miscreant. All this was caught on CCTV.

The CCTV footage has now gone viral on the internet, and appears to show the miscreant, a man named Suraj, running behind a unsuspecting woman, a Uzbek national who is in India for a business trip. The man tries to snatch the woman's phone, and the subsequently assaults the latter after she resists his attempts.

The youngsters' successful efforts in bringing the assaulter to justice has been lauded by users on social media. "The man was like a 'goal' that had to be scored," one of the boys told Times of India.

However, it has been far from a pleasant experience for the victim, who has been staying in Malviya Nagar with a friend. "She is scared and doesn't want to step out alone after dusk. She has asked me to get her tickets booked for Uzbekistan. It was her first visit to India and I am embarrassed with whatever happened with her," her friend told the media.
