German club Wolfsburg stunned Spanish giants Real Madrid 2-0 in their first leg Champions League quarter-final clash at the Volkswagen Arena in Wolfsburg on Wednesday, 6 April.

The Germans went ahead in the 18th minute through a Ricardo Rodriguez penalty after Andre Schurrle was brought down by Real Madrid’s Casemiro inside the box.

Seven minutes later, Arnold extended the lead for Wolfsburg to give the home side a two-goal cushion. Despite Real managing to create a few chances throughout the rest of the game, the hosts held on for a famous 2-0 victory.

In the other game of the night, PSG and Manchester City played out a 2-2 draw in Paris. Ibrahimovic and Rabiot scored for the hosts, while De Bruyne and Fernandinho scored for City.

The second leg of both ties will be held on Tuesday, 12 April.
