The three-time Asian Champions Iran became the second team to qualify for FIFA 2018 world cup after Brazil. But it is the first Asian team to achieve the spot.

Iran joins Brazil after defeating Uzbekistan with 2-0 at the Azadi Stadium, Tehran. The win over Uzbekistan means, Iran team will now finish in the top two places in Group A of Asia's final round of qualifying and only top two teams in each of Asia's two qualifying groups advance automatically to the WC while the teams in third place go through a series of playoffs.

After securing the ticket to Russia for FIFA world Cup 2017, Iran becomes the first Asian team to qualify for FIFA World Cup next summer.

WCQ congratulate Iran for qualifying in FIFA 2018 on Twitter and wrote “Qualified! 👏👏👏
