Team India's thumping 6-1 score over Laos in the Asian Cup qualifier last month propelled India to No 152 in the latest global football rankings.

There were no changes in the top five with Argentina topping the list, followed by Belgium, Colombia, Germany and Chile.

Euro Champions Portugal occupies the sixth spot. France is positioned at number seven, while Copa America quarter-finalists Venezuela rose 31 spots to be placed 46th. Brazil dropped to the eighth spot and Spain to the ninth spot while Uruguay dropped three spots to leave the top 10.

India jumped 11 spots in the rankings, while Wales jumped 15 places to occupy the 11 position.

Spain dropped places because they exited in the second round of Euro after losing to Italy, while Brazil dropped after having dropped out of the Copa in the league stage.
