The Indian national football team will start its campaign at the 2015 SAFF Suzuki Cup, South Asia's premier football tournament, against Sri Lanka at the Trivandrum International Stadium on Friday, 25 December.
Sri Lanka come into the game having shocked Nepal by a score of 1-0 in their opening game on Wednesday, 23 December. On the other hand, India's preparations for the tournament have been hampered by injuries to a number of players.
This time, the tournament has 7 teams participating in it, with Pakistan having withdrawn due to an ongoing legal battle involving the country's football governing body.
India has been grouped alongside Nepal and Sri Lanka in Group A, whereas Group B contains Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Maldives and Bhutan.
