Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar recently announced the commencement of the shooting of his movie 'Brahmastra' which is starring Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, and Alia Bhatt. This is the first time these three Bollywood actors will be seen coming together.

Around a year back, there were speculations that the movie would be based on Amish Tripathi's mythological series, Shiva Trilogy which has three books – Immortals of Meluha, The Secret of the Nagas and The Oath of Vayuputras. However, putting speculations to end, Amish and Karan have amicably parted ways after having certain issues beyond any settlement. “The contract had expired. There were various issues but Karan and I have parted as friends,” an English daily quoted Amish saying.

Beginning the New Year with new projects, Karan Johar tweeted on Wednesday, “The new year begins with the prep of #BRAHMASTRA....the countdown of the epic journey of our film begins! Filming commences in February 2018! Ayan Mukerji helms this magical trilogy! And an exciting ensemble!” With the tweet, Karan also shared a picture in which director Ayan Mukerji is seen having a casual moment with Alia and Ranbir.

As the name suggests, Karan Johar is all geared up to make this film his biggest hit. The movie will be released on the Independence Day of 2019 ( August 15, 2019) After directing movies like Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Wake Up Sid, Ayan will now be coming up with this trilogy, Brahmastra.

While the film is in its very initial stage and its launch will take place almost one and a half year after, the Karan Johar fans expect this to be a true Brahmastra from him. Now it remains to be seen how various aspects of this movie falls in place and how it performs at the box office, and whether it can it beat the collections of the highest grossers like Bahubali.
