UPSC Civil Services Exam 2018: Civil Services Main exam dates released; know the complete timetable

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the schedule for the Civil Service aspirants who have qualified the UPSC preliminary examinations and waiting for the mains examination dates. UPSC has released the timetable of the UPSC Mains exam.

According to the official notification, the Civil Services Main examination 2018 will be conducted from 28th September to 7th October 2018.


 

The mains exam will be conducted in two phases i.e. morning and afternoon shift. The morning shift exam will be started from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. While the afternoon exam will be started from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

However, the Union Public Service Commission had conducted the Civil Services Preliminary Exam 2018 was held on 3rd June 2018 at the various exam centres across the country. The preliminary exam was also conducted in two shifts, i.e. Paper I in morning and Paper II in the afternoon.


Selection procedure:

The UPSC civil services examination (CSE) is mainly known as IAS (Indian Administrative Service) exam which is conducted in two phases i.e. UPSC Prelims and UPSC Mains.
The selection of the candidates will be based on their performances in prelims and mains exam. The examination pattern of prelims is that there are objective type questions, while the questions asked in mains examinations are based on descriptive and essay type questions.

Also, the selection of candidate is made well before the commencement of the foundation course.
