UP Board Class 10th Result 2020: Declared! Riya Jain tops with 96.67 per cent; girls outperform boys

The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) Prayagraj has released the result of Class 10th and 12th today on its official website.

In class 10th, Riya Jain from Baghpat has bagged the first position with 96.67% marks. Abhimanyu Verma from lakhpera scored the second spot with 95.53%. The third rank is obtained by Yogesh Pratap Singh with 95.33%.


The result for UP Board Class 10th and 12th was announced by the Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma at 12 pm via a press conference in Lucknow’s Lok Kalyan Bhawan.

According to Deputy CM, this year, girls have outperformed boys in the class 10 exams.

A total of 27,72,656 students had appeared in the class 10th exam. Out of the total, 23,09,802 successfully qualified the examination. In comparison to last year's result, this year students have performed well.

Out of the total appeared student, 12,81,842 girls had registered for the High school examination and out of total 11,18,914 have passed the UP Board high school exam. The overall passing percentage of high school girls is 87.29 percent. While 14,90.814 boys had appeared for the exam, out of which 11,90,888 passed. the overall passing percentage of boys is 79.88%, which is less than the girls percentage.

This year, over 56.11 lakh students appeared in UP Board High School and UP Board intermediate. Around 30.24 lakh students appeared for Class 10th examination, while 25.86 lakh appeared in class 12.

According to media reports, the toppers of class 10th and class 12th will receive a laptop and Rs 1 lakh as a token of appreciation.
