No date has been fixed for the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) results 2016.
On Monday, Anil Kumar Saxena, Additional Director General (PR), Railways Board, told Catch, "There's no fixed date for the RRB NTPC result declaration." He added that there's no clarity if the results will be declared in October or November, 2016.
"We will however put a notification on official websites, informing students about the results," said Saxena.
RRB NTPC exam was held from 3 March to 5 May, 2016. The results however have been massively delayed.
Media reports earlier claimed that the results will be announced soon, in August. Later, they were postponed to September. Saxena had then informed that results will be declared in the first fortnight of October. However, no information has been announced so far.
More than 56 lakh candidates appeared for the exam this year. It is touted to be one of the biggest recruitment exams of the country. RRB will conduct another computer-based entrance test - RRB NTPC Stage 2 exam. Candidates shortlisted from the Stage 1 exam will be able to appear for the second stage exam.
This year, an estimated 2,73,780 lakh candidates will be called for RRB NTPC Stage 2 exams. The Railways had declared a vacancy of 18,252 this year. Candidates equal to 15 times of 18,252 will be called for the second stage exam, which will be based on the merit list.
RRB NTPC stage 2 exam is expected to held in November or December, 2016.
Several candidates expressed their frustration and vented on social media and other platforms about the delay.
