RRB NTPC 2019: New Update! Major changes for reserved category candidates introduced by Indian Railways

Railway Recruitment Board has released over 1 lakh vacancies under CEN 01/2019 advertisement or for the NTPC and level 1 posts. Now, RRB has released a new notification on its official website and has introduced major changes for the candidates belonging to the reserved category candidates, especially for the economically weaker section (EWS) category.

Indian Railways has released 1.3 lakh vacancies for various posts including Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Goods Guard, Senior Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Senior Clerk cum Typist, Trains Clerk, Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Traffic Assistant, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist, Commercial Apprentice, Station Master and for Level 1 posts.


In the new notification released by RRB, some major changes have been made to the recruitment drive.

It has been known to everyone that the selection of candidates will be based on their performances in the first-stage CBT exam and as per the merit list of the exam. The aspirants will be selected 8 times than the vacancies released for the posts. However, the selection can be increased or decreased as per the requirement of the RRB for the post.

The new change that has been made for the selection criteria stated by RRB is that ‘when a candidate is qualified in 1st stage CBT and shortlisted for subsequent stages as OBC/SC/ST/EWS/PwBD respectively in all the subsequent stages.

 

 

Also, candidates who are applying against the vacancies reserved for EWS must have to submit the valid income and asset certificate issued by competent authority as per Annexure III given at page 39 on the date of document verification.

As per the new notification, candidates who will not fulfil the criteria of economically weaker section (EWS), their application form will be considered under the Unreserved category (UR) only. 

 

Meanwhile, the last date to apply for RRB NTPC post is 31st March 2019.
