Railway Recruitment 2019: 3249 vacancies released for 10th pass; 15 plus can apply now

Southern Railway has released a job notification for the post of Apprentice for 10th pass aspirants. Government job seekers can apply for the vacancies on the official website of Southern Railway.

There is a total of 3429 vacancies released for Apprentice posts for both Freshers and ITI.

Out of the total positions, there are 1654 vacancies for Signal & Telecommunication Workshop, Podanur, Coimbatore, 1108 vacancies for Carriage & Wagon Works, Perambur and 667 for Central Workshop, Golden Rock.

The registration can be done by visiting the official website of Southern Railway Apprentice at www.sr.indianrailways.gov.in. Candidates who are the resident of the geographical jurisdiction of Southern Railway i.e. Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Puducherry, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep can apply for the post from December 1 to December 31, 2019.

Eligibility Criteria for Apprentice Post

Educational Qualification and Experience:

• Candidates should have passed class 10th class examination under 10 +2 system or its equivalent with minimum 50% marks in aggregate.
• Must have passed ITI Course in relevant trades from a recognized institution approved by NCVT/SCVT
• Must have passed +2 with Science (Physics, Chemistry & Biology) for MLT Candidates.

Age Limit Required:

The minimum age limit required to apply for the position is 15 years of age and should NOT have completed 22/24 years for Freshers /Ex-IT, MLT Respectively

Selection Procedure for Apprentice Posts

Candidates will be selected on the basis of aggregate marks obtained in both Matriculations (with minimum 50% marks aggregate) and ITI exam. While for fresher aspirants, the average marks obtained by the candidates in SSLC/Matriculation.
