NET 2018: UGC drafts a new proposal for PhD candidates; check out here

UGC (University Grants Commission) has come up with the new idea for PhD candidates. The new UGC regulations 2018 draft a proposal that it is not necessary for the PhD students to qualify the NET exam for the recruitment of the Assistant Professor post.

According to the reports of NDTV, this new draft regulation is known as Minimum Qualifications for Appointment of Teachers and Other Academic Staff in Universities and Colleges and Measures for the Maintenance of Standards in Higher Education.

As per the commission, the criteria set by the Commission for the Assistant Professor appointment that PhD degree from a university/institution with ranking in top 500 in the World University ranking by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), the Times Higher Education (THE) and Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Shanghai).
