JEE Main 2017 exam on 2 April

The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main exam will be held on the first Sunday of April, i.e., 2 April, 2017. Conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the exam is expected to be held online as well as offline like the JEE Main 2016. JEE Mains official website is expected to go live from the last week of October, 2016.

JEE Main 2017 important dates

As per reports, here are the important dates for JEE Main:

JEE Main registration: 1 December, 2016 onwards (tentative)

JEE Main 2017 exam: 2 April, 2017

JEE Main 2017 result: April-end 2017

JEE Advanced registration: April-end 2017: To begin

JEE Advanced exam date: 21 May, 2017 (final)

JEE is a two-tiered entrance test held for admissions to various engineering colleges in India including National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs) etc. The top two lakh candidates qualify for JEE Advanced, which is held for selection of candidates at the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).

About 13 lakh candidates appeared for JEE Main 2016 exam.
