Indian Navy Recruitment 2019: Applied for Sailor post? Here’s the exact computer based exam date

Indian Navy will soon to conclude its recruitment for the post of Sailor on its official website on 1st August 2019. Candidates who are left to apply for the posts then, hurry up, as only a few days are left to apply.

As per the notification, Indian Navy will conduct its computer-based examination for the selection of Sailor in September. Therefore, candidates who applied for the exam can prepare for it as per the examination date.


The Navy said in a statement that unmarried men who born between 1 April 2000 and 31st March 2003 are eligible to apply for the Indian Navy Entrance Test (INET).

According to the official notification, to apply for the post of Sailor, candidates must have passed Class 10. “Matriculate recruit entry sailors serve in the Indian Navy as chefs, stewards, and hygienists," Indian Navy statement said.

The application process for the post will begin from 26th July and the last date to apply for online registration is 1st August 2019.

This year, the Indian Navy has released a total of 400 vacancies for the post of Sailor on its website.

Selection procedure:

Candidates who will be shortlisted in the first-stage exam will be called for next phase i.e. physical fitness test and preliminary medical examination.

"On completion of this phase, a merit list shall be published and successful candidates will be called for enrolment at the training establishment, INS Chilka in Odisha," the statement added.

Interested candidates will have to visit the official website of Indian Navy at www.joinindiannavy.gov.in, and register themselves for 400 Sailor posts.
