Check out the new criteria, qualifying marks & seat matrix for IIT JEE (Advanced) 2016

The Ministry of Human Resource Development and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati released a revised list of qualifying marks and criteria on 12 June, 2016.

The total marks obtained in Mathematics will be the marks awarded for Mathematics in Paper 1 and Paper 2. The total marks obtained in Physics and Chemistry will also be calculated in the same way. The aggregate marks will be calculated as the sum of the marks obtained in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Candidates have to satisfy the subject-wise as well as the aggregate qualifying marks to be included in a rank list.

Maximum aggregate marks: 372 (186 each in Paper-1 and Paper-2)

Maximum marks in Physics: 124 (62 each in Paper-1 and Paper-2)

Maximum marks in Chemistry: 124 (62 each in Paper-1 and Paper-2)

Maximum marks in Mathematics: 124 (62 each in Paper-1 and Paper-2)

Revised Criteria for Inclusion in a Rank List - IIT JEE Advanced 2016

A total of 155948 candidates had registered for IIT JEE Advanced exam in 2016 while 147678 aspirants appeared for the test. About 36566 finally qualified for the IITs, out of which 31996 are male candidates and 4570 women candidates.

A total of 10575 IIT seats are on offer for academic year 2016-17.
