BJP's Vijay Goel to violate rules of AAP's Odd-Even scheme as mark of protest

Right after the second phase of Odd-Even car rationing scheme in the national capital was rolled out, the Opposition BJP and Chief Minister Arvind Kerjiwal's Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) are at loggerheads over the formula.

The heat of the argument shot up with the auto strike on 18 April.

Taking a jibe at Kejriwal, Vijay Goel, the chief of the BJP in Delhi, called the scheme a mere photo op and a publicity stunt. Right after the scheme was first implemented in January, Kejriwal featured in the Fortune magazine's list of 50 greatest leaders in the world.

"Arvind Kejriwal only wants to spend people's tax money for propaganda and he is not interested in reducing pollution and traffic," said Goel. The BJP leader also said that he would violate the rules of the Odd-Even scheme as a mark of protest on 18 April.

Meanwhile, in a sharp reaction to the BJP leader's remark, Kejriwal posted a series of newspaper cutouts and tweets that marked the formula as a success. The Delhi CM also accused a BJP-linked union for organising a strike that threatened to take scores of auto-rickshaws and taxis off the streets on 18 April.
