Mumbai woman gangraped in Central Delhi; Accused nabbed

A Mumbai woman was reportedly gangraped by two men in central Delhi's Old Rajender Nagar on 16 April.

According to a report in Hindustan Times, the police have nabbed one of the accused, a contractor by profession who is known to the victim. The other suspect is still on the run.

The Hindustan Times reported that the woman had sustained injuries in her private parts and was being treated at a city hospital.

In her complaint, the victim alleged that she had met the contractor on Facebook. She said he asked her to marry him and move to Delhi. She alleged that she met the accused in his Rajendar Nagar flat to discuss their marriage plans on 15 April, when his friend joined them and reportedly forced himself on her. When she protested, the two forced her to drink alcohol and took turns to rape her.

The woman reportedly managed to escape the flat and inform the police. The medical report of the woman confirmed gangrape.
