Vijay Shankar was picked up for the World Cup squad recently and he justified his selection by striking at the second ball of the very first over he bowled. In a match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings, Shankar took an important wicket of Faf du Plessis at a crucial stage and then celebrated emphatically.
Faf du Plessis was looking good before he was bowled at by Shankar and caught behind the stumps by Jonny Bairstow. It all happened in the 11th over when du Plessis edged the second ball of the over and gave a catch to Bairstow at 45 off 31 balls.

Chennai openers Shane Watson and Faf du Plessis gave a good start to their team as they together notched up a 79 run stand, which was also Chennai’s best opening partnership in this season. But Hyderabad bowlers did a good job to restrict them at 132 as they the run-rate slowed down drastically in the second half of the game.
For Hyderabad, David Warner and Jonny Bairstow did a good job as both of them scored a half-century. While Warner scored 50 off 25 balls, Jonny hit 44-ball 61 to take Hyderabad to finishing lines.
