We saw it in the Indian Premier League when bails did not fall on a few occasion even after the ball hit the stumps. But this time it happened in the World Cup as well when Adil Rashid was denied a wicket after bails stay put on the stumps.

The incident took place in the 11th over of the game when Adil Rashid came into bowl and confused Quinton de Kock with his googly, the stumps lit-up after the ball hit the stumps but the bails didn’t dislodge. The incident left wicket-keeper Jos Buttler bewildered and the ball went for a boundary as he failed to gather it.

Quinton de Kock went on to make 68 off 74 balls before he was dismissed by Liam Plunkett in the 23rd over. South African batsmen failed to chase down the target of 312 runs as they were bundled out for 207 runs. No batsman could contribute much with the bat except for de Kock and Rassie van der Dussen, who scored 50 off 61.

All-rounder Andile Phehlukwayo scored 24 runs before he was dismissed by Adil Rashid. Ben Stokes took an amazing catch to help Adil dismiss Andile.

England won the match by a huge margin of 104 runs in the opening match of the World Cup. England is one of the favorites to the lift the trophy this year as they are the host nation.
